Let me tell you how I went from “confident content queen” to “ghosted in 4K.”

As you know, I’m a content writer who shares her creativity on Instagram.One day, a fine guy reposted one of my posts. (This post below 👇🏽)

He is a fine man tho, I tell you. His kind of fine should come with a warning label. Naturally, my investigative instincts kicked in. I clicked on his profile, and let’s just say my spirit whispered, “This is your sign Tiwatope.”

So, what did I do? I slid into his DMs.

My opening line? “Why aren’t you married yet? Give the poor woman (your mom) a grandchild already.” The line gel bah?, yes i know 😂🤦🏾‍♀️

His response caught me off guard: “I’m not man enough to marry a whole human being and bring another human into this world.”

Interesting. We started joking about how Nigerian moms are the queens of wedding prayers, and my boldness went up a notch. I said, “Listen, if we start talking now, we could give our parents grandchildren by next year. How about that?”

At this point, he laughed and said, “That’s bold. You don’t even know me. What if I’m a bad person?”

Challenge accepted. We talked about what I do for a living, life in general, and other lighthearted stuff. The vibe was there or so I thought.

But then, out of nowhere… crickets. The man went silent. No explanation, no goodbye, no “I’ll be back.” Just like that, he ghosted me.

At first, I tried to rationalize it: Maybe his phone died? Maybe he’s busy? But no, sis. He made his decision and left me hanging like the plot of an unfinished novel.

So here I am, licking my wounds, but also laughing at myself. Because honestly? Life is too short not to be bold. Rejection is just the universe saying, “Thank you, Next please.”
